Spencer Samson
Spencer is making his directorial debut with a film he is truly passionate about. He has previously served as Assistant Director on Confessions and Assistant Director/Producer on The Golden Child. In his final semester at Texas State University, he will apply everything he has learned over his three years to craft a story everyone can relate to in one way or another.
Chris Mills
Chris is a dedicated director, producer, and artist. Chris directed the short film Confessions in 2024, with Spencer serving as Assistant Director. Chris has also produced various short films such as Honkerdoll, 3D, and Donuts as well as a music video for the song I Wanna Buy A Home With You by Kind Keith. He is a founding member and President of the non-profit student organization One 8th Productions.
Mercedes Salazar
Mercedes Salazar is a recent graduate of Texas State University and a rising Cinematographer in the Austin area. She has worked on numerous films, most recently The Golden Child. She met Spencer in Short Film Development, where Bird and the Boy was conceived. After reading it, she immediately asked Spencer to participate in its creation. She is super excited to work with Spencer again on another personal film about a mother and her child.
Nathan Bradley
Nathan Bradley is an outstanding Producer and Documentarian. He worked with Chris and Spencer on Confessions as a producer. He served as 1st Assistant Director on Phases and 2nd Assistant Director on Loss of Life, Soap Box, and Till Death in Hollywood. He will graduate in 2027 and pursue a master's in documentary filmmaking.
